Tencent Hy4 announced: visual understanding and computer use for the first time
Tencent announced its next-generation large language model, Hy4. For the first time, the model adds visual understanding (fine-grained image processing, complex chart analysis, mathematical visual reasoning) and computer use through the command line and graphical interfaces; it also improves instruction following, long context, and long-running agent tasks. It ranks 14th in the unique rankings with a score of 35 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v5.0.1 (1M-token context, text+image input).
Usage details
Who can use it: For now, it is available through Tencent WorkBuddy and WeCom integration; according to Artificial Analysis, there is no public API. Tencent says it will release the weights and system cards as open source “in the coming days.”
How to use it: WorkBuddy users can use Hy4 directly for office, visual design, 3D scene, and web development tasks; when connected to WeCom, it tracks projects using chat, email, document, calendar, and meeting data.
Tip: When the weights are published on Hugging Face (huggingface.co/tencent), check the license terms before trying them on your own infrastructure; for now, treat it as a closed model.
